We clearly notify the consequences of climate change in Lukwambe in the recent years. Especially the longer periods of drought lead to essential problems in this region. We believe that local reforestation is one of the most important measures to prevent worse.

The tree nursery project is a collaboration between Ngerengere River Eco Camp and German-Tanzanian Partnership (DTP). This project started in February 2022. Until the end of July 2022 about 8,000 tree seedlings were produced. The seedlings were distributed to 3 secondary schools, 4 primary schools, 4 villages and 1 prison, where many volunteers planted and watered the seedlings.  

Phase one of the project ended in August 2022. We expect the next phase to begin in October 2022.
