The sandals workshop is a unique opportunity for our guests to construct their own comfortable sandals. Salum Kiru and Maraji, two villagers from Lukwambe, usually lead the workshop. The training is located at Ngerengere River Eco Camp and takes about two days. Our guests get the chance to collect the materials themselves, so they can learn where the parts come from. The cow and goat skin can be bought from Maasai people near the Eco Camp.
This is a great chance for our guests to interact with the local people, to benefit from local knowledge, to get sandals of
Tanzanian style or to bring a very unique gift to their beloved ones at home.
The cost for one pair of sandals, including training, is USD 20.
